You don’t need the right words yet. Send a short inquiry, call, or text, and we’ll help you find where to begin.

Why people reach out

People contact us for many reasons. You might recognize yourself in some of these:

  • Sexual behavior that conflicts with your values or the life you want to live.
  • Patterns you have tried to change on your own that keep returning.
  • Secrecy, or consequences, that are affecting your relationships, work, or sense of self.
  • Wanting more than stopping: wanting a healthier relationship with your own sexuality.

Many people call this sex addiction or pornography addiction. You do not need a label or a diagnosis to ask for help. We will start with what is true for you.

Reaching out takes courage

Many people carry this alone for a long time. Feelings like shame, fear, or exhaustion are common, and they are not a reason to stay alone with it.

Our work takes behavior and its effects seriously. Understanding where a pattern comes from never removes responsibility for choices or their consequences. It does make room for change that lasts.

How the Becoming Approach shapes this work

For individuals, the approach brings three kinds of work together:

  1. The work

The 30 Carnes Recovery Tasks address unwanted patterns directly: identifying, understanding, interrupting, repairing, and recovering from them.

  2. The direction

The 12 dimensions of healthy sexuality give recovery a direction beyond sobriety: the capacities that support a healthy sexual life.

  3. The process

The Becoming Principles—Vision of Hope, Reconciliation, Commitment, and Becoming—describe how new understanding and practice become part of who you are.

Sobriety gains meaning when it makes room for becoming a healthy sexual self. Healthy sexuality is possible whether you are currently choosing celibacy or seeking full and fulfilling sexual expression with a partner.

People come to us with differing religious, moral, cultural, relational, and sexual values. The work is shaped around your values and goals.

Ways we can help

  • Individual therapy. One-on-one sessions focused on your recovery, at a pace that fits your life.
  • Men’s sex addiction recovery groups. Weekly groups in Orem and Murray that work through the recovery tasks alongside others doing the same work.
  • Couples therapy and the Couples Intensive. When you and your partner are both ready, couples work can sit alongside your own recovery.
  • Family therapy, when needed. Sessions that include other family members when the effects reach beyond the couple.
