Website Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10/20/2026

Important: This policy covers information collected through this website. Once you are a client, your protected health information is governed by the separate HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices of Connections Counseling Services, of which the Becoming Institute for Sexual Health is a division, and is handled in SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant platform covered by a Business Associate Agreement.

Information we collect

When you send a Get Started inquiry or a Couples Intensive application, we collect what you enter, such as your name, email, phone number, and your answers. Please keep your answers brief and general. You can share details privately with our team later.

The “Find your fit” questions on the Get Started page stay in your browser to show matching options. Your answers are not sent to us or saved.

We may also collect limited, non-identifying technical information, such as browser type and pages visited, through analytics.

How we use your information

We use the information you send only to respond to your inquiry, talk with you about whether our services fit, schedule appointments, and provide the care you ask about. We do not sell your personal information.

Analytics and cookies

We may use analytics, such as Google Analytics, to understand general site usage and improve the site. Analytics never receive what you type into our forms, are not used to identify individuals, and are not loaded on the Couples Intensive application. We do not place advertising trackers or pixels on pages where you might share sensitive information.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested, for security. The site’s fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when a page loads.

Third-party services

Our inquiry form and Couples Intensive application are Hush Secure Forms from Hushmail. What you enter is encrypted and delivered only to our secure inbox, under a Business Associate Agreement.

Online scheduling and the client portal are provided by SimplePractice through Connections Counseling Services, under a Business Associate Agreement. Their privacy practices govern that information.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information sent through this website. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Regular email and text messages are not fully private, so please share sensitive details only through our secure forms, the client portal, or by phone.

Your choices

You may ask us to update or delete the contact information you sent through this website by contacting us using the details below. Client records are subject to the retention and access rules in the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.

Not for emergencies

Our forms, inbox, and phone line are not monitored around the clock. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. In the United States, you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
